Terms of Service

Introduction

These Terms govern your use of HelvAuto ("we", "us"). By creating an account, listing a car, or browsing the catalogue, you agree to them. We've tried to write this without legalese — read it through and reach out if anything is unclear.

Acceptance

If you don't agree with these Terms, please don't use the service. By continuing past the home page, you confirm you've read them and accept them as-is.

What HelvAuto is

HelvAuto is a curated marketplace for special and collector cars in Switzerland. We hand-pick the listings that go live, help sellers tell the story of their car, and connect them with buyers who care about the right details.

We are not a dealership. We don't take ownership of the vehicles, we don't broker the transaction, and we don't guarantee the condition of any car listed. Our role is editorial and platform-level.

Accounts

You need an account to list a car or to see a seller's contact details. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for any activity that happens under your account.

One person, one account. You must be 18 or older. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we'll close it.

Listings

When you submit a car, you confirm that you own it (or have the seller's authorisation to list it), that the photos and information you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that the car is legally allowed to be sold in Switzerland.

We review every submission and may ask for clarifications, request additional photos, or decline the listing. Decisions are editorial and not appealable.

Fees

Listing your car for free is the default. Optional paid features include a featured placement (CHF 49) and a professional photoshoot (CHF 349). Pricing may change for new listings; existing active listings keep the price they were created at.

All fees are charged in CHF and shown net. Payment processing happens via Stripe.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant HelvAuto a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it on the platform and in editorial materials about the platform (newsletter, social media excerpts).

This licence ends when you delete your listing or your account, except for content already used in published editorial that has gone out — we won't take down a newsletter that has already been sent.

Moderation

We reserve the right to edit, hide, or remove any listing that we judge incompatible with the catalogue's tone, that contains inaccurate information, or that violates Swiss law. We will explain our reasoning when we do this — there's no auto-moderation.

Liability

We provide the platform as-is and to the best of our ability. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that listings are accurate, or that a sale will happen. Any transaction between buyer and seller is between them; we are not party to it.

To the extent permitted by Swiss law, our liability is limited to fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from your profile page. We can close it too if you breach these Terms or use the platform in bad faith. We'll explain the reason before doing so unless silence is required by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Geneva have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, subject to mandatory consumer protection law.

Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
